[Top 10 Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by the wonderful The Broke and the Bookish because who doesn’t love top 10 lists!]
It’s time for another Top Ten! This week’s topic is Ten Books Set in Canada.
When I was a child, my parents would pack our bags and take my sister and I on trips around Canada. I’ve stuffed my face with lobster in PEI, shopped at Simons in Montreal, hiked up Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, and white water rafted in Ottawa. Canada has such a diverse geography and interesting history, which makes for amazing literature. Plus, who can argue with a country that has great writers like Atwood, Findley, Ondaatje, and Martel. Here are my top ten books I’ve read or on my TBR*:
A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout
Hey Nostradamus! by Douglas Coupland
Not Wanted on the Voyage* by Timothy Findley
Fall On Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald
Away by Jane Urquhart
Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town by Stephen Leacock
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood
Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery
Have you read any of these and what were your thoughts?
