[Top 10 Tuesday is a book blog meme originally hosted by the wonderful The Broke and the Bookish, now with The Artsy Reader Girl because who doesn’t love top 10 lists!]
It’s time for another Top Ten! This week’s topic is my Top Ten Bookish Resolutions/Goals.
Finish the 2018 Book Riot Read Harder Challenge
For the past two or three years I’ve been wanting to complete this challenge and I never have. This is the year I’m going to finish it! 💪
Finish 50 books
I’m pretty sure this is doable for me. I’m already on pace for reading 68 this year.
Comment on three different blogs or bookish posts a week
Not sure why, but last year was the first time I started actively commenting on blogs or booktube posts.
Listen to The Next Chapter by Shelagh Rogers
Out of all the bookish podcasts out there, The Next Chapter is my favourite. First off, this is Canadian, and second, I love the mix of titles that she features each podcast.
Read book reviews
Each week I hope to read the book review sections of the NYT Book Review, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, Publishers Weekly, and Quill and Quire.
Read the winning book of Canada Reads and the winning book of the Giller Prize
If I was ambitious, I would read the entire shortlist, but I doubt that’s realistic for me.
Attend Word on the Street
Word on the Street is a book festival held in Toronto and other big cities in Canada in September. Authors hold readings and book signings and publishers set up booths to sell books (and they are usually discounted).
Join a book club
I haven’t been part of a book club in ages. If you have any suggestions for ones in the Toronto area or online, please let me know.
Write a monthly TBR and monthly wrap up blog post
At the start of each month I’ll write my goals and what books I hope to read (both from work and for pleasure). Then we’ll see what happens at the end of each month.
Continue to support my local library
No brainer, I love the library.
What are some of your bookish goals for 2018?
Canada Reads shortlist is announced on Jan 30. I don’t know for certain, but Indigo usually has a sale on the shortlist – it’s usually something like 40% off (or at least it was last year). I’m dying trying to wait until next week to order them 😛

Oh I didn’t realize Indigo does 40% off the shortlist. That’s good to know, thanks Steph 🙂

I don’t know if they definitely will this year but they usually do. Keep an eye on their website; I’ll drop you a line when I place my order and let you know how it goes 😁

Oh I like the one about commenting on other blogs! That’s such a nice way of interacting with the book blogosphere.

Thanks, I’ve found it’s the best way to find new gems to read and fabulous people to follow 🙂
